Winter days were made for binging Netflix series (we’re currently obsessed with Dark, FYI) and blanketing yourself into a burrito. But in the chance NYC is not experiencing sub-zero temperatures or a snow bomb cyclone, an evening out at one of The Bronx’s best restaurants and cafes with a view could make for an enchanting dinner or coffee date watching the flurries.
What do we consider the best kind of view? Floor to ceiling windows and lots of them. Although there are plenty of eateries with cool window space that let you people watch while you eat, we focused on locations that had enough seating with access to the view and for lingering. Take advantage of today’s snowfall with one of the best views to New York’s white winter as you dine.
2306 Arthur Ave, Bronx, NY 10458
Good For: Solo
If you need some “alone” time (because this is NY) then head to Prince. The decor is modern while the menu has a Turkish twist, the space is large (it has two levels) and the windows are floor to ceiling.
6031 Broadway, Bronx, NY 10471
Good For: Couples
With a view of Van Cortlandt Park and its cozy atmosphere, Jake’s Steakhouse is the perfect date night spot. But chances are you’ll be too preoccupied with your dinner plate to watch the window.
Hudson Garden Grill
2900 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10458
Good For: Family
Hudson Garden Grill is located on the grounds of The Bronx Botanical Garden—offering you the best of both worlds with seasonal farm to table food. The ample seating, healthy options, and educational opportunity to learn about plant-life makes it an ideal spot for the family. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to try this devils food cake.
136 Alexander Ave, Bronx, NY 10454
Good For: Everyone
Fact: Everyone loves pizza! So this would be the spot to take anyone and everyone—kids included. Bonus, this South Bronx spot is conveniently located by the Deegan Expressway.
Clinton Hall BX
601 E 189th St, Bronx, NY 10458
Good For: Groups & Friends
At Clinton Hall Bx, the seating is casual, the desserts are Instagram worthy and the beer will warm you up as you, old friends, and maybe even some new friends, knock frosty glasses by frosty windows.
